Bye Bye Summer, Buy Buy Winter Shoes and Boots

Despite the warm weather today winter is coming our way, so while it's bye bye open-toe sandals, wedges and flats, it's hello socks, tights and ankle-boots. Yes we'll miss the summer, the long evenings, rose wine and bright roll-up jeans, but it's a new season which means it's buy buy time.

I never thought I'd say this, well certainly not in public anyway, but I'm loving the Clarks autumn/winter range.. in a big way. Once the go-to for clunky shoes and mary janes staples I think the brand has definitely turned a corner.

I'm particularly found of the Mary Portas Leopard Print boots which will shortly have a home in my wardrobe. Of the new Mary Portas Clarks collaberation Mary Portas said:
“We honed each detail of the range to make it perfect for every aspect of a woman’s lifestyle. We have great shapes – from edgy wedges to elegant courts – that serve up instant style. While they look super-hot, they are also deceptively comfortable. I defy anyone to say they could find a more comfortable three-inch heel than mine – a true shoe revolution!”

The new season lines seem to hit all the right notes with suedes, leopard prints, hardwear and zips featureing prominently on lots of styles. My advice is to get them fast before they get snapped up.

And last but not least ..My top allrounder

Christian Louboutin still seeing Red

Yves Saint Laurent are vehemently denying accusations by Christian Louboutin that they copied his trademark red soles.

Christian Louboutin

Sexy Strass 100 Swarovski crystal peep-toe pumps

£1,995

Oh dear, what a curfuffle.. don't designers always copy each other and then the high street follows.. I know a lot of the high end stores stock both brands but live and let live and all that..I think it's all a bit silly but why didn't YSL just create an electric blue sole, that would of had the fashion crowd salvating with all the colour blocking and brights this season..

YSL have come back with the retort:
"Red outsoles are a commonly used ornamental design feature in footwear, dating as far back as the red shoes worn by King Louis XIV in the 1600s and the ruby red shoes that carried Dorothy home in The Wizard of Oz," court papers filed by YSL read. "As an industry leader who has devoted his entire professional life to women's footwear, Mr Louboutin either knew or should have known about some or all of the dozens of footwear models that rendered his sworn statement false."

In a lawsuit launched last month in New York, Louboutin is seeking damages of $1 million, which amounts to roughly 500 pairs  of the Sexy Strass 100 Swarovski crystal peep-toe pumps above, ( give a crystal or two)
from YSL which - Louboutin claims - has copied his signature coloured sole on "virtually identical" shoes.

Apparently the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded Louboutin a trademark for the red sole in 2008, according to the complaint but if that's the case how are countless high street shoe shops producing and selling bright red soled shoes? I'm sure it's not because this is a points scoring exercise is it? Well, who knows? Who cares.. At the end of the day they're all going to go back to their gorgeous houses in their gorgeous shoes and probably toast each others ridiculously over-priced but free cocktails at some industry do or another.

Bag a bargain at Vodafone London Fashion Weekend!

I spent the most enjoyable day shopping at the Vodafone Fashion Weekender yesterday with one of my favourite fashion forward friends..

Somerset House was abuzz with girls bagging bargains and not-on-the-high-street-finds.

My top picks are definitely worthy of bargain of the year awards..

Anna Lou of London - This gorgeous Jewellery was reduced by up to 70%, my fav pick was a sparkly red heart brooch for only £5 which normally retails for £12.. bargain.

Ant!podium - beautifully cut tops and dresses at a fraction of the original price.. I'm still lamenting the fact I left a black skater line dress behind!

Blingdeenie - I went a bit crazy and spent far too much money on earrings, a spiky cuff and this amazing lion-head/door knocker chain.. take my word for it, it's amazing, I bought it for a bargainous £18 when it normally retails for £50.

Buddhist Punk - I love love these t-shirts, they're so soft and give you a cool edge without even trying.. plus they were all about £20.

The Designer Studio had some Dolce & Gabbana dresses reduced from £4500 down to £450, not cheap but some of them were amazing and would last you forever.

French Sole - My friend picked up the most amazing pair of green suede pumps for £50, they normally retail at £130 (not the ones show below).

Karl Donohue - Fur be it fake or real is going to be HUGE so get some for your winter wardrobe now. I actually bough the hat below last year at this stand but the girl who sold it to me remembered remembered me, which I though was quite nice, although my friend pointed out that may not be a good thing but who cares.. these hats are so luxurious and discounted by almost 50% on the day.
Lola Rose  - My first fashion frenzy of the day began at this stand.. the rings were to die for, no seriously they were. My only problem was the majority of the most beautiful ones appeared to be for fat-fingered people, once i got past this minor obstacle both myself and my friend picked up two rings for £35 each, I've just been on to ASOS and they normally cost £85 and £95 respectively. If that's not worth the price of the entrance in what is?

15% off all orders from Republic until Midnight tonight..

Miso Patent Ballet Pumps

Indeed, another great offer for you..

Republic has been catapulted into the fashion limelight of late, it's also garnered itself some celeb fans in the form of Alexandra Burke and Pixit Lott.

Along with the usual fair of pretty dresses and playsuits, you'll find funky jewellery and a fab selection of jeggings/leggings although I think they should definitely expand their footwear collection.

You'll also find brands like G-Star Raw, Soul Cal and Firetrap.

My top pick are these gorgeous red patent pumps though.. wear with skinny jeans and a navy and white breton style top
